In this talk, Ashwanth Ramkumar explores the idea of cities of belonging, urban environments designed for the “in-between” spaces where daily life unfolds. As an architect and applied neuroscience researcher, he investigates human–environment relations using interdisciplinary methods that merge cognitive science, spatial analysis, and data science. 

At Lombardini22, Ashwanth works alongside neuroscientists and design teams to develop research-driven frameworks that translate complex behavioural insights into practical tools and design strategies. His approach reveals how architecture and urban spaces influence perception, emotion, and social interaction and how environments that foster connection and belonging can reshape the experience of city life.
