FABER2025
FABER 2025 is set to discuss on urban development and sustainability under the theme “Inclusive Smart Cities.” The event has 4 key outcomes: A publication (Book of Abstracts), Awards, an Exhibition, and the Forum. This program aims to engage a diverse audience, including researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students, through multiple platforms and events throughout 2025.
Book of Abstracts
A Call for Papers will be launched in January 25, inviting contributions that align with the theme "Inclusive Smart Cities." Selected abstracts will form the FABER 2025 Book of Abstracts. Submission Process: Authors will submit their papers for review by an esteemed panel of experts. Online Presentations: Each author of an accepted paper will have the opportunity to present their work online for 45 minutes. These presentations will be accessible to FABER subscribers and broadcast live on social media platforms. YouTube Archive: All presentations will be recorded and made available on FABER’s YouTube channel, ensuring accessibility and extended engagement.
Exhibition
The FABER 2025 Exhibition will showcase selected projects under the theme "Inclusive Smart Cities." This platform will emphasize the intersection of design, technology, and inclusivity, with contributions from students and professionals alike. Student Exhibition: A dedicated space for showcasing innovative projects by architecture and urban planning students. Awards for Best Student Projects: Three top projects will be recognized and celebrated during the forum.
The Forum
The culminating event of FABER 2025 will take place in autumn at the Opera House in Tirana, Albania. The forum will be a dynamic and thought-provoking day featuring: Keynote Speech: A 30-minute address by a high-profile celebrity, bringing global attention to the theme of "Inclusive Smart Cities." Panel Discussions: Two 40-minute sessions with experts and thought leaders exploring critical aspects of inclusivity and smart city development. Awards Ceremony: Presentation of awards in three categories and recognition of top student projects. Exhibition Inauguration: Opening of the student exhibition, fostering dialogue between academia and industry.
Awards
FABERFABER 2025 will recognize outstanding contributions in sustainability and innovation through three award categories:
- Most Sustainable Government Initiative: Celebrating policies or programs that prioritize inclusivity and sustainability.
- Most Sustainable Built Project: Honoring exemplary architectural projects that set new benchmarks in environmental responsibility.
- Emerging Architectural Studios: Highlighting young studios with a focus on community engagement and sustainable design.
Awards will be presented during the physical event in Tirana, Albania.
